Submission Guidelines
The Motion Marketplace aims to be the best place to find high-quality Motion components from a wide array of top developers and designers. To achieve this, we keep the quality bar high and moderate every submission.
To help you get selling quicker, and to avoid the disappointment of a rejected animation, we've put together some guidelines to help you through the moderation process.
Quality first
Users are coming to the official Motion Marketplace because they trust that everything they find will be professional, polished, performant, accessible and in-keeping with good animation practises.
So think about these things:
Is my thumbnail simple and attractive?
Does this animation perform well?
Is the animation useful, pleasing, or distracting?
Code guidelines
Currently, we're only accepting React components. Component files can return multiple exports. But ensure it also returns a default export component, as this is what will be rendered in the preview.
No external dependencies other than Motion. This could change based on user feedback, but for now it's not technically set up in a way to support this.
Original work only
This one is simple: Everything you upload must be 100% your own work.
Please don't submit items that contain copied or "borrowed" assets from other marketplaces, websites, or creators. This also includes client work, unless you have explicit, written permission to resell it as a template.
Submissions that contain unoriginal content will be rejected. We take this very seriously to protect our community, and repeat offences will lead to your account being removed. Let's keep things creative and respect each other's work!
Thumbnails
Your thumbnail is your shop window. It's the first thing a buyer sees and what makes them want to click. A great thumbnail can make a huge difference.
Here are the technical specs:
Dimensions: 4:3 ratio, minimum 1000px wide.
Format: A high-quality PNG or JPG.
Content: Your thumbnail must be a clear, high-quality, and accurate representation of your animation.
It's permitted to add the title of your component in some way.
Unique
We've already covered something being your own work, but we also want a diverse range of animations. So we probably only want one "stack of cards" animation etc, unless your version is substantially better than an existing one.
That's all for now - we can't see what you make!
